STATE STUDENT SUCCESS SCORECARD

The California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office has implemented a new accountability framework built on the prior Accountability Reporting for the Community Colleges (ARCC) reporting system. The scorecard indicates progress and completion rates at each college for various groups of student demographics. The table below gives overall results for Allan Hancock College. The full scorecard may be accessed at the Chancellor's Office website.
  • Completion Rate is the percentage of first-time students seeking a degree and/or transfer who succeeded in completing a degree, certificate or transfer related outcome within six years.
  • Persistence Rate is the percentage of first-time students seeking a degree and/or transfer who enrolled in three consecutive primary terms anywhere in the CCC system.
  • At Least 30 Unit Rate is the percentage of first-time students seeking a degree and/or transfer who achieved at least 30 units after six years in the system (considered mid-point in progress).
  • Basic Skills Progress Rate is the percentage of credit students who start at any levels below transfer and successfully completed a college-level course in the same discipline within six years.
  • Career Technical Education (CTE) Progress and Attainment Rate is the percentage of students who completed several courses classified as career technical education in a single discipline and succeeded in completing a degree, certificate or transfer related outcome within six years.
  • Career Development and College Preparation (CDCP) Rate is for a cohort of noncredit CDCP students who completed a degree, certificate or transfer related outcome within six years.

*  The Completion Rate for students who entered AHC college prepared was 59%, while those who were unprepared for college (needed at least one course below college level) had a completion rate of 34%.

The Chancellor prepared a short video about the new Scorecard, available at YouTube.

Allan Hancock College recognizes that some of its courses were coded incorrectly in past years, resulting in inaccurate rates for the scorecard. AHC’s office of institutional research will be developing new routines to compute corrected rates using the proper course information; please watch for this information to be made available in the future.
